Alga Norte Community Park is on track to open in late December 2013 with a special community grand opening celebration planned for Saturday, Janurary 11th 2014. Alga Norte Community Park is a 32-acre park currently under construction at the corner of Poinsettia Lane and Alicante Road, just east of El Camino Real. It will include pools, ball fields, a dog park, a skate park, playground and picnic areas, and more.

1. Three lighted softball/baseball fields
2. One lighted full basketball court and one half court
3. A concession stand at the ball fields
4. Picnic areas with barbecues
5. Playground with 100 percent universally accessible play equipment
6. An off-leash dog park divided into areas for larger and smaller dogs, including obstacle course-type play equipment
7. A skate park with a straight “street course” section, an area with challenging elements for more skilled skateboarders and a beginners’ area located next to the playground. Community members requested these two areas to be close together for families with older and younger children.
8. An aquatic center featuring:
– A 56-meter competition pool with viewing bleachers
– A 25-yard, 12-lane swim instruction pool
– A small warm water therapeutic spa
– A small “spray-ground” play area for young children
– Solar heating
– Public meeting facilities
– Heated main locker room/restrooms
– Concessions area
